Youth Apprenticeship

    • Any junior or senior student can "trade-in" some academic time to participate in a Youth Apprenticeship
    • Youth Apprenticeship [YA] must be connected one of eleven areas
    • A youth apprentice must be paid, and he or she must take at least two courses that relate to the YA area during the course of the school year
    • A YA student can earn .5 credit for every 180 hours worked and he or she must work at least 540 hours throughout the course of the experience 
      • The 540 hours does include hours worked in the summer directly before the school year in which the YA is scheduled, as long as it is arranged ahead of time
