BFHS Students Started School on Tuesday, September 3

With the end of summer comes the first day of school, and on September 3rd all freshmen and transfer students traveled to Big Foot High School for a day of introduction and fun.

Students arrived at the new start time of 7:45 where they were greeted by their FMP (Freshman Mentoring Program) mentors and taken to their lockers. All then congregated in the auditorium for an introduction to the school’s staff and FMP leaders. Here, students learned about the extracurricular clubs and activities available for them to participate in, along with school rules and a few Big Foot student traditions. Afterwards, students went to their FMP teacher’s classroom to get to know the other members and leaders of their group, followed by a number of team building activities held in the gymnasiums. It was a morning filled with fun and bonding as each student got to know their fellow classmates through these activities.

At noon, all 9-12 students arrived and attended a greeting session lead by District Administrator Mr. Doug Parker and Principal Mr. Dan Dowden where students were welcomed and explained to about some of the changes at Big Foot.

Students then got to meet with their homeroom teachers and complete a shortened version of their daily schedule to get an idea of their classes for the coming year.
