Big Foot FFA Members Attend and Compete at 2019 World Dairy Expo in Madison, WI
Six Big Foot FFA members traveled to the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, WI to compete in two different multi state skill competitions. Big Foot had two teams.
One competed in the Dairy Products Judging competition where members had to demonstrate their knowledge about the quality production, processing, distribution, promotion and marketing of milk and dairy foods through a variety of taste tests and written examinations.
The second team competed in the Dairy Evaluation competition. Members were required to evaluate a number of different cattle classes based on the animal’s physical characteristics and identify their various placings for each class in written form.
Out of the 260 dairy products competitors, Big Foot’s Molly Knull placed in the top 30% assisted by teammates Ariel Mullis and Hayley Beran. In Dairy evaluation with 338 competitors, Melissa Konkel placed in the top 40% with teammates Ryan Loudenbeck and Sydney Bender.
