Two BFHS Students Presented to the Walworth-Fontana Rotary Club
October 31, 2019 - The Geneva Lake West Chamber of Commerce selected four students — two from Big Foot High School and two from Williams Bay High School — to be interns this year through fall of 2019. The internship is paid, with students receiving $500 each at the end of their terms. The chamber has been sponsoring interns for the past eight years.
The chamber receives applications from the two schools that are reviewed by a selection committee. Most of the internship is educational, as the interns are required to attend at least 15 governmental meetings or meetings of civic organizations.
The interns are also required to help in the office at the chamber’s Fontana office, and to help during the chamber’s August golf tournament, which is the chamber’s most important fundraiser.
This year's Big Foot interns were seniors Anna MacLeod and Tanya Garnica.
