BFHS Has a New School Nurse this Year

Mrs. Katie Smith has been hired to fill our School Nurse vacancy that was created when Mrs. Julie Lohse took another job in nursing education. The position was re-organized so that the School Nurse will spend more of their time at Big Foot High School.

Biography of Nurse Smith

"Hello Big Foot Community!

I am looking forward to partnering with staff, students, and parents to promote health and wellness as the School Nurse. I received my Associates Degree in Nursing from Cardinal Stritch University and completed my Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Regis University. My professional background includes 14 years of nursing in community and hospital settings. Guiding principles of my practice are empathy, open communication, and a holistic focus.

My family includes: My husband, four daughters and a son. Our kids range from ages 2-17. Linn Township has been our home for the past 13 years. We enjoy exploring our beautiful state through camping and biking together. When I can grab a few quiet moments, you’ll find me with a book and coffee.

Best regards,
