National Honor Society Sponsored a Spring Blood Drive
On Wednesday, April 21, National Honor Society partnered with the Red Cross once again to sponsor their third blood drive of the year at Grace Church. Senior Jocelyn Arnold, the NHS Blood Drive Coordinator, took charge of this operation and had the help of other NHS members to ensure everything ran smoothly during the blood drive. With a total of 72 pints of blood donated, Mrs. Stacie Sheppard, the NHS Advisor, said that although numbers have been down compared to previous years, she still loves being part of a project that helps save lives. Most donors were people from the community, in addition to some Big Foot students. All youth donors aged 16-24 earned a $10 eGift to a place they like to eat or shop at. The Red Cross also provides a scholarship to the Big Foot National Honor Society for sponsoring blood drives. This year has been a successful year of blood donations, despite the drawbacks of the pandemic.
