Before Friday night’s Big Foot vs. Turner football game, both teams came together for a special 9/11 Memorial tribute honoring the men and women who serve—and have served—our country and our communities. 🇺🇸
Representatives from local Fire & Rescue, EMS, law enforcement, and military service joined both teams on the field for the tribute. Our flag was proudly displayed by Jason Rowland, Lieutenant of Emergency Management for Walworth County and Deputy Chief with Walworth Fire & Rescue, as the stadium observed a moment of silence in remembrance of the lives lost on September 11, 2001.
We were also proud to recognize two members of the Big Foot Football coaching staff who have dedicated themselves to service:
Coach Jacob Swatek, BFHS Class of 2005, served 10 years in the United States Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant and deploying four times, including to Afghanistan and in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Following his military service, Coach Swatek continued his commitment to serving others through a career in law enforcement and currently serves as an officer with the City of Delavan Police Department.
🚒 Coach Neil Waswo serves as a Captain with Walworth Fire & Rescue, continuing his commitment to protecting and serving our local community.
