Information

Symphonic Band is designed to enhance students’ musicianship and ensemble playing skills through an in depth study of standard wind band literature. By the nature of the course and the repertoire studied, playing independence and ensemble skills are integral to participation in the band. Thus, instrument proficiency and a basic understanding of music theory are required. Symphonic Band students perform several band concerts and represent the district at solo/ensemble and large group festivals.

Students are encouraged to take private lessons to improve their individual skills and knowledge. Instruction from a professional performer on a particular instrument is the best way to get better over time. Contact Mr. Raskin if you are interested in learning more about private music lessons.
