Gavin Baxter DAR Good Citizen Award

Big Foot High School senior Gavin Baxter has been selected as the school’s 2026 DAR Good Citizen, an honor recognizing students who exemplify leadership, service, dependability, and patriotism.

Baxter was honored by the Phoenix Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) during its annual Good Citizen ceremony held at the Lake Geneva Museum. During the event, Baxter received a commemorative plaque, a DAR Good Citizen pin, and additional gifts in recognition of his contributions to his school and community.

The DAR Good Citizen Award is presented each year to one senior from participating high schools who best demonstrates the qualities of good citizenship. Students are evaluated on their character, leadership, service, and commitment to their community.

At Big Foot High School, Baxter has built an impressive record of involvement and leadership. He has been active in several student organizations including FFA, FBLA, National Honor Society, Student Council, and Hope Squad, while also balancing a rigorous academic schedule. In FFA, Baxter has served as both chapter Reporter and Co-President, demonstrating strong leadership and dedication to agricultural education.

Beyond school activities, Baxter has shown a commitment to community service and personal responsibility. His participation in agricultural programs and competitions, along with his involvement in community events, has helped him develop leadership skills and a strong connection to the local community.

Following graduation, Baxter plans to attend a four-year college to study business or information technology, with the goal of pursuing a career in the business field.

Big Foot High School congratulates Gavin on this well-deserved honor and thanks the Phoenix Chapter of the DAR for continuing to recognize outstanding student citizens in the community.
