Great news to share from the annual meeting ---Big Foot High School's 2024-25 tax levy of $8,620,198 was approved by the board of education at Monday night's annual meeting, which is 7.22% less than last year ($9,291,439),. The mill rate is also dropping to $1.77, down 40 cents from last year's $2.17 per $100,000 of home value.

Chapters that receive a gold rating by their state FFA associations are eligible to compete for National FFA 3-star, 2-star or 1-star ratings.

The Big Foot FFA had a great time at the October FFA meeting, where they carved some pumpkins! A big thank you to Pearce's Farm Stand for providing them with pumpkins to work with. It was a fun and creative way to celebrate the fall season together!
Adventuring beyond the classroom, students enrolled in Spanish 3, 4, and AP Spanish, along with members of Big Foot’s United We Stand Club, visited the United Community Center in Milwaukee. In Milwaukee, students learned about day of the dead celebrations and enjoyed an authentic Spanish lunch.

Eighteen Big Foot high school students left yesterday for the 97th National FFA Convention & Expo Oct. 23-26, 2024 in Indianapolis, Ind. The event is the nation's largest annual gathering of students. Students have the opportunity to explore career and educational opportunities from more than 450 industry-leading exhibitors at the Expo and participate in hundreds of education workshops and tours. This past weekend the Big Foot National Honor Society participated in a highway cleanup. Members of the club picked up trash and garbage from the side of the road on highway 67. Thanks to all the members that volunteered their time to help!

This week, we celebrate and raise awareness for the importance of safety on our roadways when school buses are present. Remember to always stop when the red lights on the bus are flashing and the arm is out. Let's work together to ensure our students arrive at school and back home safely every day.
