This Spring, 30 staff members participated in the Spring Step Challenge sponsored by the Wellness Committee. Staff completed almost 9,000,000 steps in four weeks, equalling 4,000 miles. The Wellness Committee promotes healthy lifestyles, offers healthy snacks, organizes fitness challenges, provides resources on nutrition and exercise and more. Congratulations to the staff that participated and found creative ways to incorporate movement into the workday!

Congratulations to our FBLA National Qualifiers who are heading off to Orlando, FL from June 28 - July 2. We would like to highlight each of our national qualifiers in a series of posts leading up to the national competition. Today, we are featuring Northina Goeddeke who will be competing in the event Computer Applications. Good luck at nationals Northina!

Another one of our graduating seniors this year will be enlisting in the United States Air Force. Joey DeLeon will be entering basic training in October. We’re very proud of you, Joey, and wish you luck and thank you for your service to our country.

Today, we celebrate Wyatt McDaniel . Wyatt had enough credits at semester to graduate Wyatt entered the US Air Force and left for Texas April 16th. He is graduating June 6th from basic training. He will not be able to attend his High School Graduation but we will be thinking about him. He is an official member of the United States Air Force. Thank you for your service Wyatt!
This year Big Foot High School is excited to welcome a Alumnus from the Class of 2009 as our Commencement speaker. Dr. TJ Schaid, graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, MN with a Doctor of Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Grinnell College, Grinnell, IA.
He is a third-year General Surgery resident in Aurora, CO and specializes in Surgery. Under the mentorship of Dr. Mitchell Jay Cohen, MD, his research focuses on thrombin inflammation and endothelial dysfunction in trauma. He is passionate about the care of the traumatically injured patient, and after residency he plans to pursue additional surgical training in Trauma/Critical Care. TJ lives with his wife in Colorado and they are expecting their first child..
