Another one of our graduating seniors this year will be enlisting in the United States Air Force. Joey DeLeon will be entering basic training in October. We’re very proud of you, Joey, and wish you luck and thank you for your service to our country. 
Big Foot High School will be holding it's Honor Night for this years graduating Seniors on June 1st at 6:00pm in the Auditorium . Today, we celebrate Wyatt McDaniel . Wyatt had enough credits at semester to graduate Wyatt entered the US Air Force and left for Texas April 16th. He is graduating June 6th from basic training. He will not be able to attend his High School Graduation but we will be thinking about him. He is an official member of the United States Air Force. Thank you for your service Wyatt!
This year Big Foot High School is excited to welcome a Alumnus from the Class of 2009 as our Commencement speaker. Dr. TJ Schaid, graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, MN with a Doctor of Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Grinnell College, Grinnell, IA.
He is a third-year General Surgery resident in Aurora, CO and specializes in Surgery. Under the mentorship of Dr. Mitchell Jay Cohen, MD, his research focuses on thrombin inflammation and endothelial dysfunction in trauma. He is passionate about the care of the traumatically injured patient, and after residency he plans to pursue additional surgical training in Trauma/Critical Care. TJ lives with his wife in Colorado and they are expecting their first child..

KOEPPEN AWARD
The Koeppen Award is a given in honor of Captain Howard Koeppen who died while in combat with the Army Air Force in Germany in 1943. The Koeppen Award is one of the most prestigious athletic awards given at Big Foot High School. To qualify for this award, an athlete must be a senior who has shown the "all sports" attitude throughout his or her high school athletic career.
This award is not necessarily to be given to the best athlete. There may be cases where an athlete has made great contribution to his/her teams through spirit, enthusiasm, loyalty, etc.
The criteria used to determine the recipient of this award is as follows:
1. The level of participation;
2. The level of enthusiasm, spirit, and loyalty; and
3. Whether he/she conducted himself/herself in accordance with the policies stated in the Big Foot High athletic handbook.
